Happy Birthday to my father who turned eighty three today (God bless).
My father lost his mother when he was a small child. He & his father (my grandfather) used to cook their meals together. He fondly (& proudly) recalls that they used to put Dal (cooked pulses , lentils)Â into ghee rather than ghee into Dal.
That is insightful for me , as a specialist for metabolic diseases. Is it healthy to take so much fat ?
The answer lies in balance. My father doesn’t consume processed ( junk) & packaged food ( including biscuits), gets up daily at 4 am & walks for 1-2 hours, sleeps blissfully without sleeping pills ( Touché).
So, healthy lifestyle in totality including both physical & mental health is the key. Diet & exercise schedules have to be customized. Certain foods may not be appropriate for a particular person and certain exercises like treadmill, running may not be alright for some people’s knees.
A mindful lifestyle becomes a gateway to a Beautiful Life !
